Each bag in the ØW Collection starts as a simple rectangular strip, cut from the full width of a roll of fabric. Without any further trimming, this rectangle is cleverly folded and sewn to shape.

Even the raw edges of the fabric - which are usually discarded - are retained. They become the signature and distinctive feature of this collection.

About the ØW Collection - Zero Wastage:

In recent years, many brands have been moving towards ‘green’ by offering products whose components are organic, recycled, recyclable, eco-friendly, fair-trade, or a combination of these.

However, there is a less explored area of this trend: what happens with the leftover material that results from production? Can we do anything to reduce this waste? Wouldn’t it be good if we could eventually eliminate it completely?

These questions were at the forefront of architect and designer Mauro Bianucci’s mind during the design and development of his new ØW (Zero Wastage) bag collection.

The ØW Collection continues Mauro’s exploration with materials and construction techniques to create functional and unique products. While the previous collections experimented with unusual materials such as felt and rivets, the ØW Collection moves the experimentation to the design process itself, by concentrating on one guiding principle: no waste.
