Ai Collection was launched as a sub-brand by a plastic injection molding company based in a prefecture of Japan called Ishikawa Jyushi Kogyo K.K. founded in 1965.

By utilizing their expertise with plastic, they decided to create something pop, unique and useful under a new marketing brand called Ai Collection. “Ai”, taken from the CEO’s initial, Akira Ishikawa and which coincidentally means love in Japanese.

Despite being new in the competitive design culture of Japan, their first product, Paper Pot, won them the prestigious Good Design Award in 2008.
